Design Committee The Design
Committees action plans have to do with making the Historic Downtown a pleasing
and safe environment for pedestrians and motorists.
Some specific areas
and projects include:
- Streetscape banners
- Facade Improvements
- Historic Preservation
- Signage
- Downtown Design
- Parks and greenspaces
Organization Committee The
Organization Committee spreads the RDAs mission in the community and
actively seeks out partnerships.
This committee focuses on the following
areas:
- RDA Newsletter and Web Site
- Public speaking presentations
- Volunteer recruitment and
recognition
- Fund-raising
- Board development
- Organizational Strategic
Planning
Promotions Committee This
energy-filled creative group coordinates and assists other
community groups in hosting cultural and social events in the historic
downtown.
The Promotions Committee also focuses on the following ongoing
activities:
- Creating a positive image for
downtown
- Fostering cooperative
advertising,
- promotions and purchasing
with
- downtown businesses
- New Business Welcome Team
Economic Restructuring Committee This committee has the goal of strengthening the existing
economic base by offering the following to downtown businesses:
- Sharing market research and trends
with current or prospective businesses.
- Offering technical assistance on
marketing, business start-up, visual merchandising and networking.
- Advocating, developing and
marketing economic stimulus programs targeted for the historic downtown
business core. Assisting business and property owners with regulatory
processes.
- Actively recruiting new businesses
and encouraging adaptive re-use of vacant commercial properties.
